The Artist’s Launch Workbook

Two-page spread of SEO activities. Left page includes exercises on page categorization and keyword classification with handwritten answers. Right page features a brainstorming activity for personal keyword development, with artist-specific short-tail, long-tail, location-based, and niche keyword examples handwritten in four boxes.

This isn’t just a workbook—it’s your lab.

When I was studying evolutionary biology, I lived by my lab books. We’d learn theory in lecture, then head into lab to see what that theory looked like in action. That same hands-on learning approach is at the heart of the Artist’s Launch Workbook—created by me, Kasi, as a companion to the Artist’s Launch Academy online lectures.

If you’ve ever walked away from a course thinking “Okay, but what do I actually DO with this?”—this is for you.

Designed for How Artists Learn

Artists aren’t spreadsheets-and-bullet-points people. We’re hands-on, visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners.

And if you’ve got ADHD like me, you need more than just theory to make something stick.

That’s why this workbook was designed to support dual learning styles:

  • Auditory learners get narrative guidance and examples tied to lecture videos

  • Writing-based learners get space to reflect, plan, and experiment on the page

This workbook helps bridge the gap between understanding and doing.

Two-page workbook spread featuring Q3 marketing campaigns on the left and a quarterly calendar on the right. The marketing section includes four detailed campaigns for an artist named Alex, covering tasks for a print sale, collector’s week, paint and sip events, and blog creation. The right page is a blank three-month calendar for July, August, and September with dates labeled and "Art Fair Date" and "Paint & Sip" events noted.

This isn’t a passive note-taker. It’s a 208-page printed workbook—about an inch thick—with deep, structured exercises from Modules 1–5 of the Academy.

Modules Covered:

  1. Marketing Theory – Write out how you understand visibility, audience, and conversion.

  2. SEO Theory – Identify keywords, map out site structure, and learn how to be found.

  3. Website Research – Work through real-world research tasks like audience psychographics and competitor analysis.

  4. Website Launch Prep – Page by page, plan your layout, copy, and sales journey.

  5. Marketing Scenarios – Walk through real examples using my fictional artist Alex Chavez as your case study.

Workbook spread showing "Exercise 4: Problem Solving Scenarios" on the left and "Module 2: Search Engine Optimization" title page on the right. The exercise provides marketing challenges based on a fictional artist's experience and offers space for writing next-step strategies. Handwritten annotations and checkmarks are visible throughout the page, indicating active use.

Why It Works

This workbook isn’t just about filling in blanks or memorizing definitions—it’s about learning how to think like a marketer while still staying rooted in your identity as an artist. Every section is carefully designed to mirror how real-world planning works for creative entrepreneurs.

Scenario-Based Learning with Alex Chavez

Meet Alex Chavez: a fictional New York-based oil painter who sells original work, hosts paint-and-sip events every two months, and runs an online print shop.

You’ll follow Alex throughout the workbook, learning how to:

  • Build a marketing plan for an upcoming collection

  • Strategize ways to boost her SEO and website traffic

  • Plan her launch calendar for both events and products

  • Handle curveballs like slow sales or shifting audience behavior

Why a fictional artist?
Because no two real artists are the same. If I used a real artist’s journey, it might not reflect your style, your goals, or your challenges. But with Alex, I can show a wide range of situations, mediums, and strategies—giving you room to apply, adapt, and modify these techniques to fit your own work.

You'll get to test your ideas on Alex first, which lowers the pressure while building your confidence. It's like practicing in a safe environment before applying your strategy to your own art business.

Spaced Repetition for Long-Term Understanding

The workbook doesn’t just teach something once and move on. Key concepts—like identifying your audience, developing messaging, or structuring a website—come back again and again in new ways.

This helps you solidify the foundation and build mastery over time.

Messy on Purpose

This workbook is your lab, not your final portfolio. You're encouraged to scribble, brainstorm, circle things in frustration, and write lightbulb ideas in the margins. This is where your ideas are born and refined—not judged.

By the time you complete Module 5, you’ll not only have a clearer understanding of how marketing works for artists—you’ll have practiced it, planned it, and lived it through Alex’s world and your own.

The Workbook Is Only Half the Equation

To be clear: this is not a standalone book.

It’s part of the complete Artist’s Launch Academy experience. You’ll use it side-by-side with the lecture series. It’s your tool for doing the work while learning the why.

If you’re ready to treat your art business like the beautiful experiment it is—this workbook was made for you.
