The problem I have noticed during my research
There is nearly zero marketing education available to artists
I started my research in August of 2024 right after my very first meeting with an artists who was genuinely talented but did not understand how to properly market her art to help the right collectors find her art.
In 2020, art started flooding the online market. People begin researching art from their homes, and six years later the online art need is there but no independent artists are presenting themselves in all the correct places to find their collectors.
During my research, I found 86% artists only used social media to sell their art. In 2025, The Art Market found that 46% of dealers' online sales in 2024 went to new buyers, confirming that digital is now the primary entry point into the market.
Art fairs are also clearly a dominant channel. In 2024, art fairs accounted for 31% of total dealer sales (up 2% from 2023), and 31% of dealers cite art fairs as their #1 source of new buyers, the top-ranked channel.
The data doesn't show galleries being displaced, it shows the channel mix rebalancing while galleries remain the largest channel overall. The 2025 HNW collector survey found that galleries and dealers remained the most-used and highest-spend channel, even as 58% of HNW collectors also bought at fairs. Some dealers are also reporting fatigue with online viewing rooms, with serious collectors returning to in-person engagement.

Module 1
Art Marketing Foundations
This is a theory module about marketing systems, goals associated with creating marketing plans utilizing social media, website, search engine optimization, blog, email marketing and in person events. I will also teach you about creating a sales system that helps you meet your goals.
This module is notes and workbook heavy. You will use my fictional artist to create a marketing system before you even work on your own art business.
I found this to be the best way to teach this complex system for my students.
Module 2
Art Search Engine Optimization
This is another theory module. Search Engine Optimization and Generative Search Optimization is a marketing channel that builds organic traffic over time. It is the least saturated marketing channel for artists and the most used marketing channel that collectors are on.
This is my specialty so I dedicated a full module around it. This is another heavy note and workbook module.
Module 3
Art Marketing Research
This is the first module where you are actively building your marketing system. I will walk you through your workbook and how to fill it out.
We start with all your research you need to create a website, email marketing and sales system. You will set goals, create marketing systems, research about how to optimize your website template, and learn more about your collectors.
Module 4
Creating art websites and art campaigns
Within the workbook, you will find a laminated checklist for on page SEO. Within the lecture, I will walk you through the website design platform Wix Studio where you will be building your website. You will pick a website template from my catalog or another template on the market. After that, we will built your website with core pages, a landing page for your entry offer, online shop and blog post.
After you launch your website, you will implement two marketing plans: your launch campaign and your entry offer campaign.

I found that artists have a difficult time retaining information with lecture alone. ADHD brains need to write and to get their hands metaphorically dirty to commit short term memory into long term.
Within these 258 pages are structured notes for Module 1 and 2, exercises that put you in control of very specific marketing examples and in Module 3 an entire section dedicated to just research before you launch your website and marketing system in Module 4.

Beyond the main curriculum

I understand that my core curriculum is just that, the core of the marketing education problem. So I am going to be developing my own art business to understand the different situations that artists will run into with an evolving business, these will be 90 minute micro labs that solve a specific issue.
For example: Selling art at an art market will be a microlab series from applications to markets, setting up a booth, different ways to get collectors into that booth and engaged and following up with those collectors.
I am so excited for this opportunity to explore my artistic side and to further evolve my own education!

This academy was built this backed by research
My undergraduate degree is in evolutionary medicine, a field that requires a considerable amount of research. I plan to continue my education into my Master's after the academy is launched in evolutionary oncology. I have many certificates subjects like, project planning, Google SEO, Wix Studio Expert Website Designer, ActiveCampaign Email Marketing and SEMRush SEO Specialist.
